ONTARIO — Catholic Charities is hosting the 8 th Annual Consumer Resource Fair as part of the National Consumer Protection Week (NCPW) on Saturday March 3, 2018 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Richland Mall in Ontario.
Catholic Charities and participating organizations will be providing free information on topics such as money and debt management, protecting personal identification and avoiding identity theft and scams, as well as other valuable consumer information.
Catholic Charites has partnered with the Ohio Attorney General’s Office for the past eight years to participate in the National Consumer Protection Week to educate and empower the community. This year, the National Consumer Protection Week is March 4 to 10, 2018.
More than 20 organizations will participate in the resource fair, including the Ohio Attorney General’s office, Civista Bank and Finance, Richland County Adult Protective Services, Ohio Division of Financial Institutions, First Call 2-1- 1, Sutton Bank, GROhio Credit Union and many other area businesses and organizations.
The purpose of National Consumer Protection Week is to education consumers on how to make informed decisions when it comes to money and their financial affairs and how to protect yourself again scams and identify theft.
