SALT LAKE CITY — FOX 13 wants to help Utahns who’ve lost jobs get back to work so we can rebound from the economic impacts of COVID-19.
As part of that effort, we highlight job openings once a week in a segment called, “Work for us Wednesday.”
The Utah Department of Workforce Services has a list of companies that are hiring.
One is Cookietree Bakeries.
The Salt Lake company is holding an in-person job fair this week to fill dozens of positions.
It’s happening at the company’s location near California Avenue and 4000 West Wednesday and Thursday.
“We’re looking for individuals who want to come to work, attendance is very important, individuals that are quality-minded, safety-minded as well as team-oriented. Above all, we’re looking for individuals that are looking for a long-term career, looking for opportunities continually to improve their positions and work environment around them,” said vice president and general manager Harold Rosemann. “If everything goes well, we should be able to make a job offer on the spot.”
In the past week, DWFS has seen jobs open up in customer service at credit-repair-dot-com and Lexington law firm.
Lowe’s, Petco. and The Gap are just a few retailers looking for sales associates.
Registered nurses are needed at Encompass Home Health, Hospital Corporation and Steward Health Care System.
There are package handler and warehouse openings at Amazon and FedEx.
