Somerset, NJ, Visit the Franklin Park Branch of the Franklin Township Public Library on Wednesday, March 14, 2018 at 7:00 pm for ID Theft and You: Detecting and Protecting Your Digital Footprint with Professor Robert Lackie.
Social networking sites, personal information and general purpose search engines, and your home, work, and public-use computers provide considerable information on you — your digital footprint. And even though ID theft is rampant (1.05+ billion known data records have been breached from 2005 to October 2017, according to The Identity Theft Resource Center), many people are still not vigilant in protecting their privacy, identification, and good name. This session will help you analyze ID safety issues and apply safeguards at work, home, and on the road, not to mention connect to and retrieve additional notable online identity and privacy sites, tools, and resources so that you can learn how to detect and protect your digital footprint.
Robert J. Lackie (Professor-Librarian) is Department Chairperson for the Franklin F. Moore Library at Rider University and a frequent presenter at library, education, and technology conferences.
