A partnership to provide digital identification processes with facial recognition and behavioral biometrics, and combat fraud within enterprises across Egypt has been concluded between Spectrami, a cybersecurity value-added distributor, and OneSpan.
The deal is expected to help Egyptian companies step up their efforts in the fight against fraud, as public institutions increasingly opt for remote transactions with their users. Some of the targeted institutions in the North African country are those in the financial services, healthcare as well as government sectors, Spectrami added in the company announcement.
Spectrami said the solution will, among other things, enable companies to flexibly deploy remote digital identity verification, authentication, mobile security, fraud prevention, e-signatures and much more. These capabilities can either be implemented together or as separate solutions.
Digital onboarding and e-signatures have also become vital to the insurance industry with COVID-19 forcing processes to be carried out remotely, OneSpan writes in a blog post. Meeting the security needs of the insurance industry while improving customer experience is possible with the right solution, the company contends, providing a breakdown of user-initiated and integrated approaches to remote workflows to help businesses determine which is right for them.
Anand Choudha, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Spectrani said the rollout of the combined solution with OneSpan is timely as it comes at a moment when there is a spike in global online transactions, all driven by a world witnessing rapid digital transformation.
“Securing every aspect of the company brand including the identity of their stakeholders and their position within the company network is crucial. With OneSpan, we are certain that this issue can be readily dealt with, and with the ease of deployment offered by a cloud-based solution, it will certainly put our customers at ease knowing their networks cannot be penetrated using any form of identity theft,” the CEO said in the press release.
As part of the deal, the two partners have said they will be working in close collaboration to offer a range of other accompanying services such as skills transfer and upgrade, by making sure that OneSpan’s arsenal of digital assets are made available to their Egyptian partners.
Charbel Diab, OneSpan’s Managing Director for Middle East, noted that the partnership with Spectrami underscores the success that their digital identity and biometric anti-fraud solution has been able to achieve in adoption to protect companies against a growing wave of online security threats orchestrated by the coronavirus pandemic.
“OneSpan uses new technologies including facial recognition, identity verification, behavioral biometrics, and artificial intelligence that provide convenience and the highest level of fraud protection to enterprises and financial service providers globally,” Diab said.
Spectrami is a global value-added distributor that offers comprehensive solutions in the domains of information security, data center infrastructure and data communication networks across the Middle East, North Africa and part of Europe.
