SHOALS – Christmas came early for 16 elementary schools who each received a $1,250 donation from Listerhill Foundation. The donations were part of a $20,000 Christmas Blitz campaign during which each of Listerhill Credit Union’s branches was invited to elect an elementary school within their service area to receive the funds.
Several schools in the Shoals area were grateful recipients in addition to schools in other areas served by the credit union.
By providing financial support for local schools, Listerhill Foundation seeks to improve the lives of children within the Listerhill Credit Union service areas. Harlan Elementary School Principal, Dr. Thomas Casteel, explained, “Teaching is like a 3-legged stool where the parents, the school, and the community must work together. Without any one of these “legs” we can’t be successful. Partnerships like this from the community are much appreciated and greatly valued.”
The Kicks for Kids program was launched in January, 2020 and provides new shoes for children. It will now be funded through the Listerhill Foundation for 2021 and beyond. To make a donation to the Foundation, go to www.listerhill.com/foundation or contact Sarah Evans at [email protected].
