NEW CARLISLE – Navistar, which operates the former Studebaker proving grounds near Bendix Woods County Park, says it had a security breach in May that compromised the personal information of some past and current employees.
The company discovered the security breach in May, and later learned that the perpetrator took personal data for some participants in its health plan for current and retired employees as well as its life insurance plan.
Navistar purchased the proving grounds from Robert Bosch Corp. in 2015. At that time, the company employed 45 in New Carlisle.
The Illinois-based company said those affected by the breach should receive a letter that was sent this week to their last known address. Though it doesn’t appear that the data has been used, the company is providing affected individuals with two years of free credit monitoring and identity theft protection through Experian.
The Experian call center can be reached at 855-387-4540 Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. To 10 p.m. CDT and Saturday and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. CDT until Dec. 31. Those calling should be provide Experian with engagement number B018456.
