Unisys has released updated versions of its biometric identity management systems Unisys Stealth(identity) Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) 2.0 and Stealth(identity) 2.7 for frictionless authentication in both cloud and on-premises, the company announced.
Stealth(identity) biometric authentication is a flexible system that ensures robust enterprise security, while the Software-as-a-Service features offers multi-channel protection. The technology prevents identity fraud through trusted, ironclad identities and ensures biometric management process control.
“The world is dealing with a crisis of unprecedented proportions, as both businesses and consumers have had to balance health concerns with the rapid shift to working remotely, while simultaneously facing a dramatic rise in cyberattacks,” said in a prepared statement Chris Kloes, vice president, Unisys Security Solutions. “As a result, identity management is more important than ever and Stealth(identity) gives clients a simplified, cost-effective way of combating identity fraud by using biometrics to accurately and irrefutably verify identities – resulting in greater security and convenience.”
During the COVID-19 pandemic, the U.S. Federal Trade Commission has reported over 124,000 pandemic-related fraud schemes to which some 48 percent of people fell victim. The 2020 Unisys Security Index found that consumers worldwide are mostly concerned about identity theft.
Stealth(identity) provides risk-based authentication on existing infrastructure, reducing total cost of ownership in managing identity lifecycles. The system is compatible with sign-on capabilities for an additional biometrics-security layer for e-commerce, banking, and transportation. Stealth(identity) SaaS can process fingerprint, face, voice and iris recognition as well as behavioral biometrics.
In June, Australia’s Home Affairs’ biometric identification system built in partnership with Unisys and Idemia became operational to improve passenger visa and border processing, and detect criminals and national security threats.
